eV – An electric wheelchair concept by Samuel Uebersax
eV is an electric wheelchair project with a freedom to shuffle between two modes- indoor and outdoor. The chair is powered by two electric motors included in the front wheel.
In indoor mode, the wheelchair equals a conventional one in dimensions, while on the other hand, in the outdoor mode, it is 40 cm longer and 30 cm wider as to provide more stability on curves. In outdoor conditions, the chair could go upto 25 miles per hour and could adapt to slow motion when in indoor mode.
The V-shaped aluminum frame allows the user to drive the wheelchair in these two modes. Basically, the difference in two modes is that of length. In outdoor mode, the rear wheel extends itself and folds in indoor mode.
This fascination wheelchair concept is developed by designer Samuel Uebersax.
