Adastra, a $15 million superyacht, finally takes to the waters

Not comparable enough to Eclipse, the pleasure yacht owned by Roman Abramovich, still Adastra is good enough to call a high tech luxurious wonder on the waters. Most of us heard about Adastra few years ago when Hong Kong based billionaire Anto Marden assigned the job of designing it to yacht designer John Shuttleworth.

With a cost of $15 million and five years of time, Adastra is finally on the waters ready to take commands from an Apple iPad in a range anywhere not far than 50 meters. Marden would love to enjoy the panoramic view from the open deck or while sitting on the sofas in the open cockpit. Other than maximum speed of 22.5 knots, this 52 ton heavy and 42.5 long beauty has surprising range of 4000 nautical miles without refueling, enough to travel from UK to New York. Glass, Kevlar and carbon fiber make most of the construction material that helps it maintain lightweight.

Marden along with his eight guest and six crewmembers, the capacity of yacht, might seek more from it, but for most of us, it’s a wonder on waters, for the time being. Go to the source for the full technical specifications.
