2011 Pebble Beach Auction will be remembering for the record Auction of a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa that is sold for an eye-popping $16.4 million at Gooding & Co.’s Pebble Beach sale. This auction breaks a record believed to have been held by another superlative Ferrari—and also a 1957 250 Testa Rossa. That one sold for $12.4 million in May 2009 at an RM Auctions event.
Another stunning entrant at Pebble Beach was 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Scaglietti Daytona Spyder. It is owned by the Gary Schaevitz, from Bedford Corners, New York, this one’s an original from the cocaine-era Ferraris. It’s also a cunning Snickers shade of brown, which makes it empirically superior to anything of its era or of this one, not to mention delicious. Dig the original seats: we wish every Camaro and Mustang came with buckets ribbed like these.
Jaguar also felt its presence at the prestigious event and celebrated its 50th year anniversary at the Pebble Beach Automotive Weekend with a series of memorable heritage events, featuring an array of significant vehicles representing the past, present and future of the brand. A major highlight of the weekend will be Jaguar’s C-X75 hybrid supercar on display at the Pebble Concours Concept Lawn on Saturday and Sunday. There will also be opportunities to test drive Jaguar’s current model year line up throughout the weekend.
If we talk about elegance then Ferrari design score over all other brand and Shelby SuperCars (SSC) Tuatara is the another masterpiece from Jason Castriota of Ferrari P4/5 fame. Tuatara was unveiled earlier today on the concept car lawn at Pebble Beach. Its production version will feature a bespoke twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8 producing 1,350 horsepower, a carbon fiber sub-frame chassis, and one-piece carbon fiber wheels.
Pebble Beach is a great place for the vintage car lovers, it stun visitor with one another masterpiece from the past. This time the Peter and Merle Mullins 1934 Avions Voisin C-25 Aerodyne is one of them and also taken the Best in Show award at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The meticulous restoration of the car is only part of the beauty: from the fender struts to the trim details to the incredible interior print, the Mullins’ C-25 Aerodyne is simply a beautiful car.
